You can't tell the story of the NBA over the last two decades without mentioning the Golden State Warriors. Built through the ground up, the core of Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green brought home four NBA Championship, while the "Splash Brothers" revolutionized the sport and changed how the game is played in today's day and age.

Although Thompson left the Warriors at the end of the 2023-24 season, he continues to be a member of the Warriors family. Thompson's return to the Bay Area as a Dallas Mavericks player was as special as it gets. Now, Thompson's former family has to be there for him, as he suffered a crushing loss over the weekend.

Klay Thompson's beloved dog, Rocco, es away at age 13

Thompson announced on his Instagram that his dog, Rocco, ed away at 13 years of age. Thompson posted a slideshow with several pictures with this caption: "I'm gonna miss Rocco a lot, 13 glorious years with my boy. I know he's in doggy heaven poppin somebody's ball. A great dynasty dog he was. Thank you for all the sweet messages! All dogs go to Heaven!"

Thompson and several commenters calling Rocco a "dynasty dog" isn't out of coincidence. Rocco became famous during the Warriors' famous run with Curry, Thompson and Green leading the franchise. Fans grew attached to Rocco due to Thompson frequently posting his escapades.

The Warriors' official social media posted a tribute to Rocco on their X , showcasing how important he was to the franchise.
