Unexpected change in Canelo vs. Crawford: fight changes day and city

TKO Boxing adjusted the main event card, the fight is delayed by one day and is looking for a new home among three key cities.

Unexpected change in Canelo vs. Crawford: fight changes day and city

The most anticipated fight of the year between Saul "Canelo" Alvarez and Terence Crawford will not take place on the date or at the venue originally announced. Initially scheduled for Friday, September 12, 2025, at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, the card has been moved to Saturday, September 13, and the venue is now in dispute between three cities: New York, Los Angeles and again Las Vegas.

This change responds to strategic issues, mainly to avoid conflicts with the college football season, but also for commercial reasons. Turki Alalshikh, the driving force behind the event and a key figure behind the promoter TKO Boxing, is looking to maximize audience and revenue in what will be the first official event for the Saudi-backed company.
