Max Verstappen was recently slammed by the European media after he complained about the Las Vegas GP's opening show where he claimed that he did not like the off-track events at all.

The current F1 Champion has been known for his antics, especially when it comes to off-track events like the spectacular Las Vegas GP presentation, in which he said that it was a 99% show and 1% sporting event.

Max Verstappen opened up about his dislike for off-track events

This was demonstrated once again at the Las Vegas Grand Prix when Red Bull's Dutchman went on a rant about the drivers' presentation that occurred on Wednesday.

When speaking to The Guardian, Verstappen claimed "I guess they still make money if I like it or not, so it's not up to me," he said. "But I'm also not going to fake it, I just always voice my opinion on positive things and negative things. That's just how I am.

"Some people like the show a bit more, I don't like it at all. I grew up just looking at the performance side of things and that's how I see it as well. So for me, I like to be in Vegas, but not so much for racing." He elaborated

However, these complaints have not gone down well with the press in Europe, as they blasted him for his lack of professionalism and friendliness to the people who gathered at the Sin City circuit.

"If you don't like it, I'm not sure I have to say anything. I'm a little disappointed with that because standing on a platform to receive the affection of the fans isn't the worst job in the world, is it?" questioned Martin Brundle.

Adding that "it's not that difficult. You're not in a sailor's job or in the mines or anything like that. So I don't understand why you feel so much negativity about it," he reiterated in a Sky Sports broadcast.

On the other hand, another of those who expressed his annoyance was Jenson Button: "I'm surprised he's been so outspoken. He wants to race, and that's all he wants to do, apparently."

"But there are other parts to this Formula 1 thing, as we all know. The racing is the fun part, but we get paid for everything else that's there," he insisted.
