Through her social media profiles, María Isabel Hernández, mother of Liga MX's Cruz Azul soccer player Carlos Salcedo, accuses her son of being the mastermind behind the murder of the player's sister, Martha Paola Salcedo, who was shot on June 29 in an alleged attempted robbery in the State of Mexico.
In the post, which she shared on her Instagram , María Isabel Hernández describes her daughter's murder as femicide. She also claims that Salcedo and his wife Andrea Navarro are trying to leave the country, allegedly because they are the masterminds behind the crime, which is already being investigated by the State of Mexico's Attorney General's Office.
The post reads as follows:
"Justice for my daughter. The real reason Carlos Salcedo wants to leave the country is that he and his wife Andrea Navarro are the masterminds behind Paola's murder."
After the news of Martha Paola Salcedo's murder broke, reports indicated that the player was seeking to leave the country and had informed Cruz Azul to look for a club abroad, with the 'Titan' setting his sights on MLS.
This is how Paola Salcedo, sister of the 'Titan,' was murdered
According to journalist Carlos Jiménez's report, the 31-year-old former presenter and public relations specialist went to the circus with her son and a worker last Saturday, where she was killed.
With information from 'C4 Jiménez,' Paola Salcedo resisted an alleged robbery; two men approached her SUV to demand her keys and purse; however, she did not give them up, and after a struggle, the assailant shot her at least twice.
Initially, it is believed that the 'Titan's' sister was murdered in front of her son and the worker. After seeing her injuries, she was taken to the Los Angeles Hospital in Interlomas, where she was treated; however, she was declared dead after 9 PM.
