Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck face big issue in selling their $68M marital mansion

Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck have encountered new complications in selling their Beverly Hills mansion. Although the couple accepted a $64 million offer for the property, the prospective buyers from New Jersey withdrew from escrow due to a personal tragedy. However, the couple reportedly remains interested in purchasing the house.

Even with the $64 million price tag, Lopez and Affleck might face financial losses after paying a 5.25 percent mansion tax, realtor commissions, and factoring in the cost of significant renovations. They originally bought the estate for $60.8 million in 2023.

Initially listed at $68 million, the five-acre estate features a 5,000-square-foot guest penthouse, a caretaker's residence, a two-bedroom guardhouse, and parking space for up to 80 vehicles. Recreational features include a gym, boxing ring, sports lounge, and both basketball and pickleball courts.

Lopez's compromise

A source previously revealed that Lopez was not fond of the property's modern aesthetic, and that buying the home was largely Affleck's idea, making it a "major compromise" for her.

"She agreed to it because of its spacious layout, accommodating both their families, a gym and a pickleball court, office space, plus it has two private entrances," a source told People.

Affleck has since moved out of the mansion, renting a Brentwood home to stay near his children, and purchasing a $20.5 million home in Pacific Palisades in July.

"Ben really likes his new home and feels hopeful about the change," an insider told Entertainment Tonight. "He wanted to move and be closer to [ex-wife] Jen[nifer] Garner and their kids."

Meanwhile, Lopez has been actively searching for a new home, most recently viewing a $22 million property in Beverly Hills.
