- UFC. Covington vs Buckley Fight Card: Which fights can't you miss this Saturday at UFC Fight Night?
Joaquin Buckley is one of the great promises of the UFC. The career of the 30-year-old fighter has been on a constant rise since his debut in 2014 with the Shamrock FC promotion and will go up a new step this Saturday the 14th, when he will be the star of the night for the first time in UFC Fight Night: Covington vs. Buckley.
Inside the octagon, Buckley is characterized by his winning instinct and his punching power. Outside of the canvas, New Mansa stands out for his business skills, which has led him to turn his name into a brand sought after by numerous sponsors.
One of his frequent sponsors is the distributor of wellness products for athletes ReAthlete. However, thanks to his business savvy and personal website, Buckley recently added the energy drink brand PureFuel to his portfolio of sponsors.
So what is Buckley's net worth?
Specialized sites such as Essentially Sports and Sportskeeda place the fighter's net worth at $1 million by the end of 2024. His name has gradually become more important in the UFC, significantly boosting his salary.
As for his earnings, his loss to Chris Curtis at UFC 282 in 2022 earned him $60,000. In contrast, his victory over Andre Fialho at UFC Fight Night in May 2023 increased his by $260,000, of which $150,000 was for showing up to the fight, $100,000 as a win bonus, and $10,000 more in sponsorships.
While the purse for the Colby Covington fight hasn't been revealed, it's expected to be Buckley's biggest payday yet, given the importance of the fight and the prime spot it will occupy on the card.
Buckley, the rising star
Although he's already 10 years into his career, New Mansa is a UFC star prospect. His knockout of Stephen Thompson at UFC 307 alone was declared Performance of the Night, an award he's already won three other times in his career.
After a four-year stint as a middleweight, Buckley returned to welterweight in 2023 against Andre Fialho, racking up five wins since then. A win over Covington this Saturday would strengthen his brand, giving him more leverage in negotiations for future fights.
