Actor Joe Don Baker, known for films such as 'James Bond: GoldenEye', 'Cape Fear' or 'Mud', or the series 'Edge of Darkness', has died at the age of 89. Born in Texas in 1936, he studied business istration and management at North Texas State College, but his life ended up being devoted to film.
It was when he moved to New York, ing the Actors' Studio in the early 1960s, that he began his career in Hollywood and Broadway, making his theater debut. He went on to play a series of roles until his performance as a Bond villain in 1995 made him one of the most recognizable figures in the industry, with Pierce Brosnan in the role of the agent
Quentin Tarantino's 'Jackie Brown' was another of his great roles, and he moved away from cinema in 2008, in the film 'Strange Wilderness'. The news of his death was confirmed by his family to Deadline, although the causes of death have not been revealed.
