In what will not come as a shock to many, Conor McGregor has given Donald Trump his just hours after the ex-president survived an assassination attempt whilst rallying for the 2024 Presidential Election in Pittsburgh.

Trump was the target of a "lone wolf" who fired several shots at him from a range of around 130m, one of which struck the billionaire's ear, before United States Secret Service agents tackled the politician and returned fire.

In the returning fire, the assailant, named as Thomas Crooks, was shot dead but not before the 20-year-old managed to kill a person in the crowd and injure another leading to widespread condemnation from the world, notably by Trump's rival, Joe Biden.

And Trump and McGregor have mixed and mingled a few times in the past and have high opinions of each other, with the UFC star previously calling the ageing Republican candidate the "GOAT" of American politics and the Irishman offered his once again.

"A 78 year old multiple billionaire he should be on a yacht on the med [Mediterranean] touring golf courses," McGregor posted to X.com, formerly Twitter. "But he is not.

"He is in Pennsylvania spitting out bullets! Running for the love of his country! God speed Donald! God bless the United States."

Elon Musk endorses Donald Trump

It didn't take long for many people suspected of being right-wing leaning to use the failed assassination attempt to endorse Donald Trump for the Oval Office, which will be assumed by either him or Biden in January 2025.

One of those was Elon Musk, the American-South African billionaire responsible for helping to grow PayPal, SpaceX and Tesla into the companies they are, whilst he also runs Twitter (now rebranded as X) following his legal requirement to purchase the company.

"I fully endorse President Trump and hope for his rapid recovery," Musk said on his website, one day after he made an undisclosed donation to the pro-Trump America PAC group as per Bloomberg.
