Emma Coronel, the glamorous wife of infamous Mexican drug lord El Chapo, is making waves as she returns to her roots in the beauty industry following her release from a US prison last year.

The 34-year-old beauty queen, who remains married to Joaquín 'El Chapo' Guzmán-now serving a life sentence in Colorado's Supermax prison-has been busy revamping her career. Coronel, who had been sentenced to three years for drug trafficking in November 2021, was released early in September last year, according to the US Federal Bureau of Prisons.

Recently, Coronel took to Instagram to share her glamorous comeback. In a series of posts, she stunned her 113,000 followers with images of herself dressed to the nines in a white gown and a chic black dress. These posts, which have also garnered attention on Reddit, hint at her return to the beauty scene.

The stylish return of Emma Coronel

In one of her latest posts, tagged with fashion stylist Edgar Ramos and the women's clothing store MAXA, Coronel captioned: "Enjoy whatever you do to the fullest, in the end that will be your only reward. @edgar.style @maxabrand." Her fans were quick to shower her with praise, with comments like "Congratulations beautiful, always shining" and "She's the boss' old lady."

Coronel's journey with El Chapo began in 2007 when they met at the Coffee and Guava Festival beauty pageant in Durango, Mexico. They married a year later and welcomed twin daughters in California in 2011. Despite her husband's notorious reputation and multiple arrests, Coronel has stood by his side.

The El Chapo cartel is still active

El Chapo's criminal empire lives on through his children, especially his four sons from other relationships, known as Los Chapitos. Iván Archivaldo Guzmán Salazar, Ovidio Guzmán López, Jesús Alfredo Guzmán Salazar, and Joaquín Guzmán López have continued to steer the Sinaloa Cartel since their father's final capture in 2016.

While Ovidio was arrested in January last year and awaits trial in the US, his brothers remain elusive, still hunted by authorities.

With her return to the beauty industry, Emma Coronel is once again in the spotlight, proving that her story is far from over.
