Deion Sanders' second season leading the Colorado Buffaloes (6-2) has been better so far than last year. Last season, the team won just four games, and this year, with the team currently ranked 21st in the country, they have a chance to play in a bowl game - a feat they haven't accomplished since 2020, when they lost the Alamo Bowl to the Texas Longhorns. that starting this year, the new 12-team playoff format expands from the four-team format used from 2014 through 2023.

With six wins so far, the Buffaloes have already secured their best season since 2016, when they won 10 games and also lost the Alamo Bowl. With four games left in the season - all winnable based on their current performance - it is not unrealistic to think that the Buffaloes could still finish in the top 12 if they win all of their games and other results go their way. Their only game against a team with a record above .500 is this weekend against Patrick Mahomes alma mater Texas Tech (6-3).

Deion Sanders on Shedeur's Maturity and Selflessness

At today's press conference for the Colorado Buffaloes' game against Texas Tech, Coach Prime spoke about his son, the team's quarterback, Shedeur Sanders, and the positive ways he's used his Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) earnings. Sanders praised his son's maturity and shared an anecdote about Shedeur's generosity when a new teammate who had just moved to town lacked furniture in his new home. Shedeur offered the player all the furniture from his own home.

Apparently, as Deion mentioned, the player eventually left the team and supposedly never thanked Shedeur, though Deion doubts that was the case. Regardless, Shedeur didn't take offense, saying that "he's blessed enough to do it," showing both his leadership and humility - qualities that will serve him well next year in the NFL, where he is projected as a first-round prospect according to various reports.

Shedeur Leads NIL Rankings, Sets Example of Generosity

Shedeur Sanders now has the highest NIL valuation in the NCAA, according to on3.com. With a valuation of $6.2 million and nearly 3 million followers on his social media s, Shedeur tops the list this season. He's followed by LSU gymnastOlivia Dunne, who is valued at $4 million, teammate Travis Hunter at $3.4 million, Longhorns' Arch Manning at $3.1 million and Duke's Cooper Flagg at $2.6 million round out the top five.

As the son of a sports legend like Deion Sanders, Shedeur had the advantage of financial stability growing up, making his gesture of giving without expecting anything in return all the more significant. His father probably instilled this mindset in him, and it shows a deeply human and generous spirit. He may not need to help others, but his willingness to do so is inspiring. It's a reminder that helping those in need is a privilege, something that everyone, without exception, should keep in mind.
