The Colorado Buffaloes just enjoyed a well-deserved bye week. After a rocky start to the season, Deion Sanders' team has rebounded very well, taking a 6-2 record into the final stretch of the season. A big reason for the team's success has been total buy-in by the players to what Sanders has been preaching and teaching.
It also has helped to have two standouts players like Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter. But the players have to like playing for their head coach in order for them to perform at their maximum. Something that we've seen come up time and time again this year has been the blossoming relationship between Hunter and Coach Prime. Hunter is frequently seen stealing Sanders' shoes and being confronted like he's his child.
Deion Sanders tells hilarious Travis Hunter story
The two have a special bond, which has been seen both on and off the field. But Hunter gets up to no good sometimes. One specific time was a bit too wild, and he nearly paid the price for it - as did Sanders. Coach Prime told the story during a press conference recently.
It had to be one o'clock in the morning. He's riding four-wheelers around the property. I'm hearing this and I'm thinking to myself, 'You better not fall off this.' The whole country is going to be at my throat if you fall off this four-wheeler. Then, I see deer flashing on one side of the property, and he's chasing a deer. Next thing I know, you know, we got a shooting range, and he's all like pop, pop pop, and then I'm thinking my mom is gonna go crazy because she is trying to sleep.
Hunter stayed with the Sanders family during the bye week, essentially becoming a relative while the team had some time to rest and recuperate.
