Deion Sanders is at a crossroads as his Colorado program looks to the future of its quarterback position.
Shedeur Sanders preparing for the 2025 NFL Draft, the Buffs' quarterback situation is secure for now and the arrival of 5-star recruit Julian Lewis has put Sanders in a position to make a crucial decision about his long-term quarterback strategy.
Could Coach Prime go after Miller Moss?
Miller Moss, a former USC quarterback, has announced he will enter the transfer portal, sparking speculation about his potential landing spots.
Moss, who spent three seasons with the Trojans and started 10 games, is seeking new opportunities after being benched in favor of Jayden Maiava for USC's final games of the 2024 season.
Moss' decision to enter the transfer portal before its official opening on December 9 has turned heads across the college football landscape, with several programs, including Michigan, Auburn, and Colorado, likely to pursue him.
Keyshawn Johnson, a former NFL wide receiver and current commentator, has already endorsed the idea of Moss heading to Colorado.
On his YouTube show All Facts No Brakes with Keyshawn Johnson, he said, "I hope he goes to Colorado. He should go to Colorado. Have JuJu Lewis sit for a year and learn under him while Pat Shurmur, the offensive coordinator who was a former head coach in the NFL, can get him ready for the NFL."
Johnson's comments highlight the possibility that Moss could provide stability and mentorship to the younger Lewis, a potential star in the making.
Moss is no stranger to the spotlight, having compiled 2,555 ing yards, 18 touchdowns, and nine interceptions in 2024.
While his numbers may not have placed him among college football's elite quarterbacks, he has shown enough promise to warrant attention from major programs.

With a reported NIL valuation of $915,000, Moss would add significant value to Colorado's already impressive NIL program.
However, the presence of Lewis could complicate matters.
As the 5-star quarterback prepares for his future at Colorado, it remains to be seen if he would benefit from a year of developmental time behind a transfer QB like Moss or if Sanders would opt to keep the position wide open for Lewis.
Moss, for his part, is looking for a school that can compete at the highest level.
"I'm excited to dive into different systems with different coaches and places," he said.
"I think that's something that excites me."
As the transfer portal race heats up, Sanders will need to weigh the benefits of Moss' experience against the developmental needs of his prized recruit, Julian Lewis.
