Colorado Buffaloes superstar Travis Hunter is having a great closure to his college football career: he was named one of four finalists for the Heisman Trophy this Monday.
Hunter became the first player to play both sides of the ball at a dominant level in college football history, finishing the 2024 season with 92 receptions (ranked first in the Big 12 Conference and fifth in the NCAA) with 1,152 receiving yards (third in the Big 12 and sixth in the nation).
He also recorded 14 receiving touchdowns to lead the conference and is second in the NCAA, and 21 receiving plays of 20 yards or more which led the entire country.
Defensively, he recorded 31 tackles, 11 breakups (tied for first in the Big 12 and eighth in the country) four interceptions (tied for second in the Big 12 and 17th in the NCAA). Hunter also had15 es defended (ranked first in the Big 12 and fifth in the country).

Travis Hunter also accomplished something no other college football player has done the season: starring in a trailer for the new Marvel movie "Kraven the Hunter", the action-packed, R-rated, standalone story of how one the most iconic villains came to be.
Aaron Taylor-Johnson plays Kraven, a man whose complex relationship with his ruthless gangster father, Nikolai Kravinoff (Russell Crowe), starts him down a path of vengeance with brutal consequences, motivating him to become not only the greatest hunter in the world, but also one of its most feared.
Hunter made a special collaboration to promote the movie and the results look great.
Travis Hunter's impressive accolades
Travis Hunter is just the third player to be a finalist for the Heisman Trophy that also played at an Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU).
The first was Doug Williams in 1977 at Grambling State who would go on to win the Super Bowl XXII MVP. The second was future NFL MVP Steve McNair in 1994 at Alcorn State.
The first true two-way star in a generation, Hunter has played 1,360 snaps on offense and defense this season and leads the Power 4 in receiving touchdowns (14), is second in receptions (92) and yards (1,152). On defense, he has been targeted 39 times, third fewest in the P4 and has given up an FBS leading six first downs (for players with 300 or more snaps).
He also has 15 es defended (four interceptions, 11 breakups), tied for third in the P4 despite only having 39 targets, and his four interceptions is tied for fifth among P4 players.
Hunter has caught 92 es and allowed just 22 receptions, caught 14 touchdowns and allowed just one and has 53 first downs on offense and given up just six.
