Of course, the end of the season for the Colorado Buffaloes wasn't what their fan base, coaches and players expected, as they could have finished with 10 wins for the first time since 2016 and won a bowl game for the first time since 2004, but BYU was more prepared and ready for them, a team that has excelled off the field more than on it. Either way, the Buffaloes finished with a record above expectations as it marked the end of the college football careers of Travis Hunter, Shedeur and Shilo Sanders. All three are expected to declare for the 2025 NFL Draft, with Shedeur and Travis projected as likely top-five picks. Despite earlier speculation that Shedeur might the New York Giants, their Week 17 victory has altered their draft position and the entire draft order, making his landing spot less certain.

Deion Sanders Debunks NFL Draft Rumors

Amid growing rumors of Shedeur's NFL preferences, Deion Sanders, his father and Colorado's head coach, dismissed the reports as false. Deion, as a good father, has always emphasized that his focus is on making sure his sons find the right environment for success, but he has not ruled out any team that shows genuine interest. Because it is obvious that it matters a lot the franchise to which a player arrives, let's take the clear example of Patrick Mahomes, it is not the same to arrive to a well organized franchise like the Chiefs to one like the Bears, team that could take him but preferred Mitchell Trubisky, so these were the harsh words of Deion towards the false rumors that are growing every day.

With yesterday's results, the draft order for April 2025 has changed drastically, with the Patriots now holding the first overall pick, with Heisman winner Travis Hunter expected to be the candidate coming to Foxborough. On the potential teams that could draft Shedeur include the Giants, Tennessee Titans, Las Vegas Raiders, and possibly the Cleveland Browns, all of whom are in need of a franchise quarterback. As told, currently, the New England Patriots hold the No. 1 overall pick, but with Drake Maye already leading their offense, their interest in Shedeur seems unlikely. April's draft is shaping up to be a pivotal moment for the Colorado stars who didn't win anything big in their college careers, but still exceeded expectations.

Draft Order Still in Play in Week 18

With only one week left on the schedule, the Patriots have a good chance to have the first overall pick as they visit the Bills, a team that secured the 2nd seed in the AFC but could finish with their best record in history with 14 wins. The Titans would be the second pick and need a quarterback who could well get one in free agency, but that decision will be seen as the months progress and especially as the draft order, I do not doubt that there will be trades within the first five draft picks.
