NFL legend and Colorado Buffaloes head coach Deion Sanders has faced countless battles on and off the field. However, his latest health concerns have once again reminded fans of his resilience and determination.

Sanders, who has undergone 12 surgeries and even had two toes amputated, recently shared a concerning update about his health, revealing how cold weather took a toll on him.

But as always, his fighting spirit-instilled by his mother, Connie Knight-keeps him pushing forward.

Sanders Faces Health Scare but Remains Unstoppable

On February 19, Sanders took to Instagram to update his fans on his condition. He explained that after attending the Super Bowl in New Orleans, the drastic change in weather during his return to Texas left him feeling unwell.

"Super Bowl in New Orleans, the weather was wonderful till the last day, it didn't start raining. We left that evening and drove back to Texas. We got out of our truck at like 3 am and it was freezing. And I think that's when it happened," Sanders shared.

He itted that despite his illness, he initially tried to maintain his workout routine, but eventually, the symptoms caught up to him. However, rather than focusing on the negative, Sanders found a silver lining.

"Usually when I catch a bug, I'm happy. Y'all start tripping. It gets me the rest I need, leans me out like I am, and I'm ready," he said.

Even while hooked up to an IV, Sanders emphasized his commitment to his players and his role at Colorado. "A lot of my staff says I'm stubborn because I love to work, I love the young men, I love the kids. I don't call it work. I call it a 'calling.' They say 'stay home when you going through something like this,' I can't. I can't. I'm called to this. I'm called for this."

The Unbreakable Bond Between Deion Sanders and His Mother

Sanders' work ethic and determination can be traced back to one person-his mother, Connie Knight. Raised by a single mother who worked tirelessly to provide for him, Sanders saw firsthand what true dedication looked like.

"I've never in my life, when I was coming up, seen my momma take a day off. I can't recall a time my momma said I'm not going to work cause I don't feel good," he recalled.

That unwavering commitment became the foundation of Sanders' mindset. He even challenged himself in his Instagram post, asking, "If I can't recall my momma taking a day off, who am I? I gotta go get it."

Knight's sacrifices were never lost on Sanders. When he was in high school, she worked long hours and couldn't even attend his games regularly.

But no matter how exhausted she was, she made time to drive six hours just to see him play on weekends.

Years later, Sanders made good on a promise to his mother-to make sure she never worked again.

"We weren't going to be broke no more and my mother would not have to work another day of her life," Sanders said, recalling the moment he was drafted by the Atlanta Falcons in 1989.

"My mother has not worked since 1989, when I signed the dotted line. And she would never ever work another day."

A Life of Dedication, Both On and Off the Field

Despite amassing a net worth of $45 million and achieving legendary status in both the NFL and college coaching, Sanders remains as driven as ever.

His relentless pursuit of success, whether as a player or a coach, is deeply tied to the values his mother instilled in him.

From battling health issues to pushing through adversity, Deion Sanders continues to embody resilience and determination-just like his mother taught him.

And even as he faces new challenges, one thing remains clear: Prime Time never backs down.
