Steve Sarkisian's statement about Arch Manning that raises doubts about the Texas Longhorns star

Arch Manning's era with the Texas Longhorns will begin this fall. Eli and Peyton Manning's nephew, after patiently waiting for the past two seasons, is ready to take control of the offense for the NCAA season.

With his great potential, Manning is projected to be a possible first-round pick in the 2026 Draft; however, there is still a lot of work ahead for 2025.

The excitement for Manning's season is at its peak

Even though eyes are on Arch Manning for his great talent, there are still several obstacles ahead. In his appearance on the Paul Finebaum Show, Kirk Bohls of the Houston Chronicle shared some insight into what to expect from Arch in 2025.

"It's funny, we met with Steve (Sarkisian) a week ago, for the first time since that famous ending at the Cotton Bowl against Ohio State," Bohls said. "He made a somewhat concerning statement when he said about Arch Manning: 'He's not going to throw a touchdown on every .' That shook everyone. Maybe he's talking about a touchdown every other , which would probably be acceptable to the Longhorn Nation, but there will be growing pains."

Bohls pointed out that, despite Arch Manning's talent, it will be tough to replace a quarterback like Quinn Ewers, who led Texas to 27 wins, compared to Manning, who started only two games. This presents a significant challenge for the new starting quarterback of the Longhorns.

Arch Manning's Performance in 2024

In 2024, Manning played in 10 games but started only two. He threw for 939 yards, totaling 9 touchdowns and 2 interceptions. Arch showed great flashes and also some issues that have been pointed out.

Arch's first test will be on August 30, 2025, when the Longhorns face Ohio State in the season opener. The two teams met before, and with Quinn Ewers at the helm, the Longhorns lost 28-14 in the 2024 Cotton Bowl.
