When the LSU Tigers got bounced out of the 2024 NCAA Tournament by Caitlin Clark and Iowa, it was natural for a lot of criticism to fall at the feet of Angel Reese. After all, Reese fouled out of the game and only shot 33% from the field, so she was partly to blame. But in reality, it was Hailey Van Lith who caught almost all of the flak due to her inability to guard Clark.
Clark poured in 41 points, 27 of which came from three-pointers. After so much criticism and with Reese leaving, Van Lith looked for greener pastures, and she found it at TCU. On Saturday, Van Lith kept the Horned Frogs' season alive, leading them to the Elite Eight with a 26-point performance against Notre Dame. Van Lith's exit from LSU had some fans feeling rancorous, but that's clearly not the case for her most notable former teammate.

Reese made sure to watch the TCU-Notre Dame game, and had a short and succinct message in regard to Van Lith's performance
Reese also reposted a compilation video of Van Lith's best moments from the game. Offensively, she was stellar, but it was her defensive performance that really stood out. With help from her teammates, Notre Dame's star backcourt of Hannah Hidalgo and Olivia Miles combined to shoot 6-29 from the field.
TCU will now get set for an Elite Eight meeting against the No. 1 seed Texas Longhorns, for a chance to reach the Final Four.
