- NFL. Brock Purdy's job Is in danger; The 49ers have followed the same formula as in 2022 and drafted another quarterback
- NFL. Deion Sanders comes to his senses: Coach Prime understands he can be toxic for Shedeur and Shilo and could make a drastic decision
2025 has been a tough year for Shedeur Sanders. He started off as a projected first-round pick for the Draft but gradually saw his stock fall, ultimately being surprisingly selected with the 144th pick in the fifth round by the Cleveland Browns - a team that had earlier picked quarterback Dillon Gabriel from the Oregon Ducks in the third round.
Many believe that Shedeur Sanders' fall, despite having decent stats with the Colorado Buffaloes, was due to an alleged "attitude problem," while others blame his father, Deion Sanders, for his Draft slide.
A few months ago, the Browns were among the favorites to select Shedeur with the second overall pick, but he wasn't taken until the fifth round. In fact, Cleveland made a trade with the Seattle Seahawks to acquire Sanders. Shedeur s a team with five competitors fighting for the starting quarterback job, and it's unclear who will ultimately win the role.
Key Browns player shows for Shedeur
After the agonizing wait during the NFL Draft, Shedeur finally heard his name called. The high-profile quarterback shared a clear message on social media, thanking the Browns for the opportunity:
"Thank you @clevelandbrowns for an OPPORTUNITY!!!!!! THANK YOU GOD "
Meanwhile, one of his new teammates, Browns tight end David Njoku, shared a post from the team's official page on his Instagram, along with a motivational message:
"Let them hate, brother, you know what you're made of!!"
For now, everything remains uncertain within the Cleveland Browns franchise. The reality is the team has a very competitive roster, but uncertainty at the quarterback position could turn catastrophic for them.
The starter is Deshaun Watson, but his future is in doubt following an Achilles tendon injury. Joe Flacco and Kenny Pickett appear to be the main contenders for the starting job, while Dillon Gabriel and Shedeur Sanders will battle hard to earn a real shot with the team.
Only time will tell whether the teams that ed on Sanders made a mistake - or if they were right to on the son of the legendary Deion Sanders.
