Gracie Hunt, the daughter of Kansas City Chiefs CEO Clark Hunt and heiress to one of the NFL's most storied franchises, has subtly ushered in a new chapter in her life.
After months of low profile following her quiet split from former boyfriend Cody Keith, Gracie has now seemingly confirmed a new relationship with a familiar face to Chiefs fans: Derek Green, the son of former Kansas City quarterback and team icon Trent Green.
What has fans buzzing isn't just the couple's shared Kansas City connection, but their deep NFL roots and public emergence as one of the league's most promising "dynasty couples." Speculation about their relationship began swirling after a recent social media post from Starcade Media, which read: "It appears #Chiefs heiress Gracie Hunt is now in a relationship with Derek Green. He is the former SMU quarterback who also happens to be the son of former Kansas City QB Trent Green."
In fact, Green has appeared prominently in several of Gracie Hunt's recent Instagram posts. On May 18, she shared a carousel of photos featuring snapshots from her downtime with friends, family, and Derek.
Captioned "My heart is full. Grateful for some much-needed time to rest, reflect, and reset..." the post added fuel to what many already suspected-that the two were more than friends.
First met at Arrowhead Stadium
The pair has not shied away from public appearances either. Earlier in May, they were seen together at the Formula 1 Miami Grand Prix, where Gracie posted a photo with the caption "Living life in the fast lane with @RaisingCanes."
They then turned heads at the White House Correspondents' Dinner in Washington, D.C., with Derek Green dressed in a custom tuxedo from Peters Clothiers. The brand proudly posted the moment, writing: "Derek Green with Gracie Hunt at the Correspondence Dinner in Washington, DC!"
Sources close to the couple believe they first met at Arrowhead Stadium-ground zero for both of their families' ties to Kansas City football.
A former quarterback at SMU and Long Island University, Green later continued his football career in Europe, playing for professional teams in , Italy, and Sweden. His academic and athletic accolades include four AAC All-Academic Team honors and a nomination for the Burlsworth Trophy.
Off the field, Derek has followed in his father's footsteps in more ways than one. He now works in sports operations at Creative Planning in Overland Park, Kansas, and gives back to his community by volunteering as a football coach at Rockhurst High School.
His family basement, according to friends, is still a tribute to the 2003 Kansas City Chiefs season-a nod to his father's pivotal role in leading the team to a 13-3 record.
