The Los Angeles Rams exhausted all efforts and went all-in to make it to a Super Bowl a few seasons ago. Their plan was considered risky for the future, but it ultimately paid off, as the team won it all at the end of the 2021 season. Since then, it has been tough for the team to have sustained success.
Plagued by an aging roster and tight salary cap space, Sean McVay was still able to rally his team to 10-win seasons in 2023 and 2024. What's even more impressive is that he did it with Aaron Donald retiring before 2024 and Cooper Kupp missing a ton of games over the past three seasons.
That lack of availability, particularly on Kupp's part, is one of the main reasons the team has chosen to part ways with him this offseason. Although they kept Matthew Stafford, the team is set for major changes.
Jacksonville Jaguars considered favorites to sign Cooper Kupp
Los Angeles hasn't been able to find a trade partner for Kupp, meaning his release is like to come soon. Given his age and injury history, it will be tough for him to find a long-term deal, but he won't have a shortage of suitors. The odds-on favorite to secure his services at the moment is the Jacksonville Jaguars, which has surprised many.
Jacksonville just released several -catching veterans in order to clear up salary cap space. Evan Engram and Josh Reynolds are officially gone, while the plan is for Christian Kirk to be next. Adding Kupp, who is older than all of them and will still demand a good amount of money, would be an odd move for a team that appears to be rebuilding.
The teams following the Jaguars in of odds to land Kupp are the Denver Broncos and Los Angeles Chargers.
