It's almost time for the 2024 Hockey Hall of Fame inductions as several stars of the sport are set to become immortalized in NHL history, but will they receive any cash money for this prestigious honor?
Seven will be inducted on Monday, November 11 after being celebrated at the Hall of Fame Game in Toronto on November 8, and they are Pavel Datsyuk, Shea Weber, Jeremy Roenick, Natalie Darwitz, Krissy Wendell-Pohl as well as Colin Campbell and David Poile.
They were already hailed earlier in the day when they received their wings before the Detroit Red Wings took on the Toronto Maple Leafs at the Scotiabank Arena, with the home side delivering a 3-1 victory.
Scoring in all of the three periods, John Tavares got two points on the board as Mitchell Marner also got in on the act for the Maple Leafs whilst the consolation for the visitors came via Dylan Larkin.
Fans can see the inauguration and induction live on the NHL Network from 20:00 ET/17:00 PT on Monday, November 11 to celebrate some of the legends of the sport as well as two more people who will be honored.
Scott Burnside, who writes for ESPN and The Athletic, will collect the Elmer Ferguson Award for writers whilst Pierre Houde of RDS will collect the Foster Hewitt Award for broadcasters as the Hockey Hall of Fame celebrates the media too.
