In its own right, Ghost of Tsushima has become one of PlayStation's most important IPs. Sucker Punch's recent game left a very good impression and its sequel, Ghost of Yotei, promises to be an absolute blast. What we didn't expect was that Sony would expand the franchise even further with a new animated series.
The Ghost of saga will indeed have its own anime. This was confirmed by Crunchyroll during Sony Group Corporation's CES 2025 press conference. Among other things, the streaming anime platform confirmed that it will be released in 2027 and that they will be exclusively responsible for its broadcast.
At the moment we don't have too many images about it. What's more, the synopsis has not been revealed either, although we hope that it will follow the adventures of Jin Sakai. After all, in the announcement they say that it will be "an anime series based on the video game Ghost of Tsushima", so it is inferred that it will be a direct adaptation of this and not a work based on.
The other option is that it describes the events of Ghost of Tsushima: Legends, the multiplayer DLC in which we relive various Japanese legends and myths. Since they have the same name, it would make more sense for it to be an adaptation of this rather than the original game.

As far as the team responsible for its production is concerned, only a few names have been corroborated. For example, we know thatTakanobu Mizuno, also responsible for Star Wars: Misions and The Duel, will be the director.
It will be led by the studioKamikaze Douga, a studio with not too much experience that has worked on Pop Team Epic and Gal to Kyoryu. However, it has collaborated with other studios such as David Production (for some segments of some openings of Jojo's Bizarre Adventure) or Liden Flms (Terra Formars).
As far as the script is concerned, Gen Urobuchi will be in charge of adapting the story. Similarly, it has been confirmed that the animation studio will have the help of Aniplex in the production and Sony Music in the musical section.
As for who will be playing the various characters, nothing has been said yet, and we don't expect to hear anything soon. We will probably have to wait a while before we hear anything new about the series.
