UFC boss Dana White is entering the boxing business

During the promotion of the Callum Walsh vs. Przemysaw Runowski fight in Ireland, White teased that big news related to boxing is on the way. Insider Rick Glaser has reported that White will collaborate with Turki Alalshikh to create a boxing version of his popular Contender Series, bringing a fresh format to the sport.

"There will be some big announcements soon," White said. "I never say anything I don't do, ever. We've been kicking the whole boxing thing around for a long time but you've never heard me commit and say, 'I'm in.' I'm in."

White's entry into boxing has been the subject of speculation for years, and now, with from Turki, it looks like his next venture is finally taking shape.

"Breaking, #DanaWhite is going to dip his toe into #Boxing again, this time with @Turki_alalshikh, & they are going to do a Contender type series of what could be 5 round fights. Welcoming back @DanaWhite!!!" Glaser reported.

Interest in boxing world

White previously ventured into boxing by co-promoting the 2017 Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. Conor McGregor fight. At the time, he expressed a strong interest in entering the boxing world. However, in the years following, White scaled back his involvement and by 2022, he stated he no longer wanted to be involved in the sport.

"Every time I try to think about doing something with boxing, I go, 'Why would I want to do this to myself?'" White said on Blockasset's BLOCK Party. "You know what I mean? Why would I even want to dive into this nightmare?"
