Khabib Nurmagomedov and Conor McGregor seemingly have no interest in putting their rivalry to bed, with Chael Sonnen weighing in on the matter.

Khabib made waves when he claimed that "Ireland doesn't have fighters, brother", especially when compared to his homeland of Dagestan.

Never one to take a slight silently, McGregor responded to his former foe on social media.

"And all yous a*se lickers around the way years stood on no ground for your own," McGregor posted to X.com, formerly Twitter. "Sickening stuff.

"Look at yous now. You deserve exactly what's there for yous, not a thing. Nothing. Traitorous bums.

"The Yellow teeth's we call ya's. Pea brains in a cage. Panache = zero. Creativity = poop. Wherewithal = fart. Embarrassing to me."

Conor wasn't the only fighter to take exception to Khabib's claim, as UFC star Darren Till (who is English) weighed in and defend the honor of 'The Notorious'.

Sonnen weighs in

Following Till's comments, UFC analyst Chael Sonnen took exception with his comments and fired off a lengthy response on his YouTube channel.

"I heard Khabib's interview [about Ireland not having good fighters]. I then read Darren [Till's] rebuke of the comment," said Sonnen.

"The problem is Darren misquoted Khabib. Darren's whole problem was saying 'Hey look at the population of Ireland [5.2 million] in comparison to Russia.' That's the thing, Khabib never said Russia.

"In fact, he specifically said Dagestan [which has a population of 3.2 million]. In the village that Khabib lives in, there are two thousand people, and there were seven Olympic champions."

Sonnen then expanded on Dagestan's ability to produce fighters by pointing out how mind-blowing the numbers really are.

"Seven of them have Olympic gold medals. That is crazy. Two thousand? That's how many people I had in my high school," he said.

"Khabib's point of bragging about Dagestan per capita versus anywhere on earth. You might not like it, it may offend you but there's no way to say he's wrong,"
