Demi Moore opened up about Bruce Willis' ongoing battle with dementia, though some of her comments raised eyebrows.
The 62-year-old sat down for an interview with CNN in which she discussed the ongoing health battle her ex-husband is going through.
Willis was diagnosed with aphasia back in March 2022 and has retreated from the public eye since then. Moore said that Bruce is in a stable place at this time, and urged anyone who has to deal with someone with dementia to do so with love and joy.
"Given the givens, he's in a very stable place at the moment," Moore told CNN. "And I've shared this before, but I really mean this so sincerely. It's so important for anybody who's dealing with this to really meet them where they're at, and from that place, there is such loving and joy."
She also added that watching a loved one struggle with the condition is "very difficult" and "not what I would wish upon anyone."
Moore also pointed to the positives that have come from the battle stating: "There is great loss, but there is also great beauty and gifts that can come from it."
That comment raised some eyebrows amongst fans.
Moore and Willis relationship
Moore married Willis in 1987 before splitting in 2000. They share three daughters - Rumer, 36, Scout, 33, and Tallulah, 30.
After his divorce from Moore, Willis married Emma Heming Willis in 2009 and they have two daughters together: Mable, 12, and Evelyn, 10.
Willis' family revealed his condition back in March 2022 with a post Instagram. It was later revealed he was suffering from frontotemporal dementia (FTD), a progressive terminal diseases that affects behaviour, language and occupational functioning.
"To Bruce's amazing ers, as a family we wanted to share that our beloved Bruce has been experiencing some health issues and has recently been diagnosed with aphasia, which is impacting his cognitive abilities," they wrote in a t Instagram statement at the time.
"As a result of this and with much consideration Bruce is stepping away from the career that has meant so much to him.
"This is a really challenging time for our family and we are so appreciative of your continued love, comion and .
"We are moving through this as a strong family unit, and wanted to bring his fans in because we know how much he means to you, as you do to him. As Bruce always says, 'Live it up' and together we plan to do just that."
The family recently spent the Thanksgiving holiday together, with Bruce sharing a touching moment with his girls that was posted on social media.
