Elsa Pataky reveals the agreement she made Chris Hemsworth "promise" before getting engaged: "I fell in love"

Love is sometimes synonymous with sacrifice. Elsa Pataky has never seen it from this perspective, so when she met Chris Hemsworth, the chemistry that arose between them was not the only important thing for her. The Spanish actress did not want to force herself, or her partner, to have to choose between two such different countries. She is from Spain (although she lived in Los Angeles) and he is from Australia.

That's why, when she realized that the relationship was starting to take on more serious overtones, she did not hesitate to force Chris Hemsworth to reach an agreement: "I made him promise that neither of us would force the other to live in his country, because they were so far apart," she said. However, it was she who ended up 'breaking' that promise, because when she got to know Australia, there was no turning back.

Elsa Pataky on visiting Australia for the first time: "I fell in love"

"It ended up coming about because he took me to Australia, showed me Byron Bay and I fell in love. It was paradise. I had always wanted to live by the sea and with animals. So I said, 'Okay, let's go, but you promise me I'll have horses'," the actress told Harper's Bazaar magazine about her early days in what she now considers home.

That visit ended up being the beginning of the story they have forged to this day. And when Pataky visited the oceanic country for the first time, she no longer wanted to know anything about her previous life: "We realized that living in Los Angeles was not an option," she said. "We wanted to give them the opportunity to live in nature, away from the spotlight, and this was the perfect place."

Said and done. Together they acquired a property in Broken Head. They expanded the family with three children (India Rose and twins Tristan and Sasha) and built their life from Australia. It seems that they have become the model idyllic family that all of Hollywood wants to follow
