Beyoncé crowned Biggest Pop Star of the Century

This was expected to many, as Billboard has named Beyoncé the biggest pop star of the 21st century. The announcement, made as part of an editorial series that began in August, highlights the 25-year career of the artist, who has left an indelible mark on the music industry and pop culture and her husband Jay-Z has been there to her.

According to Billboard, Beyoncé's selection as number one is based on her ongoing commitment to innovation, artistic evolution and excellence. The medium assured that his influence has established a standard that other artists have sought to emulate over the last 25 years.

Beyoncé, recognized as the most awarded artist in Grammy history, has a record 32 awards. This year, her album "Cowboy Carter" earned her 11 additional nominations, consolidating her as the most nominated artist in the history of these awards, with a total of 99 mentions.

She has been leading the way

On the Billboard charts, the singer has also made her mark with nine singles that reached number one on the Hot 100 and 24 that entered the top 10. Her debut solo album, "Dangerously in Love," topped the Billboard chart 200 in 2003, like seven other of his albums.

Before her solo career, Beyoncé was already dominating the charts as a member of Destiny's Child, one of the most successful girl groups of all time. This recognition is not the first for Beyoncé by Billboard, which already named her the biggest pop star of the year in 2003 and 2014.

The Billboard chart also recognizes other notable pop figures, with Taylor Swift in second place and Rihanna in third. Other artists in the top 10 include Drake, Lady Gaga, Britney Spears, Adele and Justin Bieber, while names like Bad Bunny, The Weeknd and Katy Perry round out the rest of the positions.
