Sohei Othani the ambidextrous pitcher and World Baseball Classic Champion lost his cool on Saturday after a call from umpire Phil Cuzzi did not settle with the Japanese star.
While playing against the Seattle Mariners on Saturday, Ohtani stepped up to the plate in the bottom of the 5th with a two-out inning while having 2 men on base.
Shohei Ohtani exploded after the umpire's call
Mariners' pitcher Gabe Speier threw a series of pitches that led to a full count of 2-3-2, then he threw a questionable slider on which Ohtani got struck out after the pitch that apparently landed off the base was called a strike and he immediately reacted.
As soon as the call was made by the umpire Phil Cuzzi, he was surprised and instantly shook his head and complained. Some lip-readers saw the F word being said on different occasions as he was heading for the Angels' dugout.
Ohtani currently has a 3.32 ERA on the mound and scored a home run on Saturday and while the pitch was ruled as an out, the Angels manager Phil Nevin gave umpire Cuzzi an earful of his thoughts about the play.

After the call, Nevin also lost his cool and stormed off from the dugout to home plate to have a full argument about the call and even used antics to show Cuzzi how the pitch was off the plate.
In an interview after the game, Nevin said "I can't see in or out from my spot in the dugout, but I go off my players' reactions and I usually don't see Shohei show that kind of emotion,"
Eventually the Los Angeles Angels lost to the Seattle Mariners 6-2.
