The season is not over for the Colorado Buffaloes, with one big game left, the Alamo Bowl against BYU on Saturday, the 28th. This game will mark the final collegiate appearance for Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter, both projected to be among the top five picks in the NFL Draft in April. With a win, Colorado would finish the season with 10 wins, something they haven't accomplished since 2016, when they also played in the Alamo Bowl but lost. A win would also give the Buffaloes their first bowl victory since 2004. Regardless of the outcome, what Deion Sanders has done with this team is remarkable.

Shedeur and Travis: A Heated Moment Caught on Camera

Prior to this important bowl game, the team received some inspirational words from their coach Deion and then practiced with a full roster as some key players were in New York for the Heisman Trophy ceremony, which as you know was won by Travis Hunter in a close vote against running back Ashton Jeanty. During the practice, Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter had a tense moment where Shedeur grabbed Hunter by the neck and confronted him. Deion Sanders Jr., the team's official cameraman, recorded the entire incident - watch as what started as Hunter teasing Shedeur almost turned into a brawl.

It's clear they weren't actually going to fight; they were just having a good time and talking about the awards they received. Of course, Hunter has won many more awards, including the most prestigious individual trophy in college sports, the Heisman. However, one comment - surely a joke - didn't seem to sit well with Shedeur, but in the end everything ended with laughter and an apology from Travis. We'll see what they can do against BYU in their last college game together, because who knows what the future holds for them in the NFL. Maybe they'll reunite in a few years, but one thing is for sure: Regardless of the outcome of the Alamo Bowl, both will be top picks in the draft.

The Dilemma of Shedeur and Hunter's Future in the NFL

Speaking of the draft, which is still several months away in April, Shedeur Sanders is the favorite at most bookmakers to be the first overall pick. Much, if not all, of the draft order will depend on how the NFL regular season plays out. However, as things stand, the first overall pick will likely go to either the New York Giants or Las Vegas Raiders. Given the urgency and need for both franchises to secure a quarterback, that would mean Sanders and this year's Heisman nominee Cam Ward would be selected with the first two picks, potentially leaving Travis Hunter at number three. But again, there's a long way to go until April, with only three weeks left in the NFL regular season.

Another intriguing situation is what will happen with Hunter once he's in the NFL. Will he continue to play both positions? I find that almost impossible given the level of demand in the NFL compared to college football. Will he choose to be a wide receiver, as they currently make more money than defensive backs, or will he become an elite cornerback, which is where he excels? The good thing is that he will have plenty of time to think about this situation. Also, a lot will depend on the head coach of the team that drafts him and what the best possible scenario is to maximize Hunter's talent.
