Dallas sports received some good news after the Mavericks won the 2025 NBA Draft Lottery, which could lead the city to Duke forward Cooper Flagg. His possible arrival did not go unnoticed by Cowboys linebacker Micah Parsons.

Micah Parsons is in the final year of his rookie contract and is in the midst of contract negotiations to extend his deal to stay in Dallas, with the expectation of becoming one of the highest-paid players in the NFL.

Parsons often uses his social media to send signals, and his reaction on his Instagram , in which through his Instagram stories, he only shared a post from ESPN's Sportscenter in which they asked the question "A new trio in Dallas?", with an image in which Kyrie Irving, Anthony Davis and Cooper Flagg appear and suggest that the Mavs will be able to capture the Duke forward with the number 1 pick in the Draft.

Although he made no comment, sharing the news may be another sign of Parsons' commitment to stay in Dallas and reach an agreement with Jerry Jones.

Mavs win the NBA Draft Lottery

The Mavericks had never won the Draft Lottery, and they will almost certainly select 6-foot-8 forward Cooper Flagg, the freshman who led Duke to the Final Four in his only college season and the consensus Player of the Year.

Dallas overcame all odds to do so, with only a 1.8% chance of winning. San Antonio, with two consecutive Kia Rookie of the Year winners Victor Wembanyama and Stephon Castle, will pick second, Philadelphia third and Charlotte fourth.

"I didn't think too much about it," Flagg said on the lottery broadcast on ESPN about what it will likely mean for his immediate future. "It was out of my control."

Flagg averaged 19.2 points, 7.5 rebounds and 4.2 assists at Duke this season. He shot 48.1% from the field, 38.5% from three-point range and 84% from the free throw line, and was named National Player of the Year by The Associated Press.
