Could one of the NFL's most iconic tight ends be gearing up for a return?

Rob Gronkowski, a four-time Super Bowl champion, is reportedly considering coming out of retirement for a second time-and the Denver Broncos are emerging as a top contender.

Is Gronk coming back?

Gronkowski, 35, originally retired from football in 2019, only to return in 2020 to team up with Tom Brady on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

After a two-year stint, he retired again in 2022, taking up a role as a Fox Sports analyst.

However, recent reports suggest that Gronkowski has been contemplating a comeback, with the Broncos at the forefront of his mind.

According to Denver Sports' Cecil Lammey, the legendary tight end has been training in Vail, Colorado, to get back into NFL shape.

Gronkowski is reportedly impressed with Denver's turnaround under head coach Sean Payton and the development of quarterback Bo Nix, who led the Broncos to a strong 2024 season.

"I might as well go back to football because I'm grinding harder than I ever grinded before, and I'm not even playing football,"Gronkowski said on the "Dude on Dudes" podcast.

"I might as well go back because playing ball would be easier than what I've been doing over the last six months."

Adding to the intrigue, Gronkowski has a family connection to the Broncos.

His brothers, Chris and Dan, both had brief stints with the team over a decade ago.

Gronkowski is also said to have a deep appreciation for the city and the team, making Denver an even more attractive destination.

Although the Broncos are not in desperate need of a tight end, Adam Trautman currently holds the starting position, the prospect of adding a future Hall of Famer like Gronkowski would provide a significant boost.

With the AFC West featuring top-tier tight ends like Travis Kelce and Brock Bowers, Gronkowski could add another dimension to an already competitive division.

Whether or not Gronkowski will ultimately return to the field remains to be seen, but for now, all signs point to the Broncos as a serious contender for his services.
