Davante Adams is undoubtedly one of the best wide receivers the NFL has ever seen. Despite a slow start to his career, Adams has blossomed since his age 24 season and hasn't looked back.

Nearing age 30 and moving away from Aaron Rodgers, Adams was expected to see a major dip in production following his move to the Las Vegas Raiders in 2022. Instead, he put up 1,500 yards and scored 14 touchdowns. But it all unraveled in 2023, and the reasons why are clear.

Davante Adams thought he was going to die playing for Raiders in 2023

In a snippet from the show "Receiver" on Netflix, Adams was mic'd up and caught being utterly sick and tired of his situation; with a particular emphasis on head coach Josh McDaniels and quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo.

On the play in question in the clip, Adams was severely overthrown by Jimmy G despite being wide open; something that has plagued Garoppolo throughout his career. But there was also a struggle in of putting the ball in Adams' hands by any means possible, which fell back on the offensive minded McDaniels.

Ultimately, McDaniels got fired midseason. And Garoppolo got benched, which Adams itted he "signed off on". That all paved the way for Antonio Pierce to establish himself as the right guy at the helm.

Adams will turn 32 at the end of this year, but he still has a lot left in the tank. The question will be if incumbent starter Aidan O'Connell or journeyman Gardner Minshew can get him the ball.
