The saga is about to end: Aaron Rodgers will be a Steelers player and it could be confirmed before the end of may

Shedeur Sanders has stolen the spotlight in the NFL in recent months, but Aaron Rodgers hasn't fallen far behind with the ongoing drama about what will happen with him in the 2025 season-and time is running out for the legendary quarterback. Everything seems to indicate that it will be either the Pittsburgh Steelers or retirement, a topic that Rodgers himself has put on the table.

The team Aaron Rodgers originally wanted to was the Minnesota Vikings, but they are fully committed to J.J. McCarthy, so that's no longer an option for the quarterback. A few days ago, a rumor surfaced suggesting the Miami Dolphins might be a possibility due to Tua Tagovailoa's injuries, but that now seems very unlikely.

So, all signs point to Aaron Rodgers becoming a Steelers player, a team in need of a quarterback. Right now, they only have veteran Mason Rudolph, Ohio State rookie Will Howard, and Skylar Thompson, who was signed in free agency by Pittsburgh.

Aaron Rodgers is expected to become a Steelers player before the end of the month

On the show 93.7 The Fan's The PM Team, Aaron Rodgers' biographer Ian O'Connor said the quarterback will become a Pittsburgh Steelers player and that the announcement will come in the next few days.

"I just think that, verbally, behind the scenes - not that he's guaranteed it - but he's told [the Steelers]: 'Listen, I'm going to play for you. I just don't want to come now and then miss part of mandatory minicamp because of personal matters. I'm pretty sure those will be resolved by the end of May, at least to my satisfaction, so I can fully commit.' So I think that's where he currently stands," said O'Connor, according to SteelersDepot.com.

O'Connor also believes Pittsburgh is the perfect place for Rodgers to end his career-a team that, with him under center, would undoubtedly be a contender for the AFC North division title.

"He knows that what happened in New York was largely a disgrace, and he's the face of that disgrace," O'Connor said. "Whether that's fair or not, that's how it is. Maybe I'm being optimistic, but I think this is going to work. Do I think the Steelers will win the Super Bowl next year? No. But if you tell me they finish 11-6 with at least one playoff win... that seems realistic to me."

So Steelers fans can start to get excited about potentially having Aaron Rodgers, and it could happen within the next 8 days, as the team's organized team activities (OTAs) are set for that timeframe. In fact, next Sunday, the Steelers have a scheduled press conference, where the announcement that Rodgers is ing the team could be made.
