Although the Mike Tyson vs. Jake Paul fight in November has a ton of hype attached to it, boxing purists have a mega fight with way more at stake circled on their calendars: Artur Beterbiev vs. Dmitry Bivol. Set to be an explosive bout between two of the best light heavyweights in recent history, they will be fighting for the undisputed titles.
In order to get to this spot, Bivol has beaten some impressive names. None was more impressive than Canelo Alvarez. Bivol put on a masterclass performance against the Mexican superstar in May of 2022, shocking the world and showcasing his elite technical ability. While the fight showed that Canelo's venture into light heavyweight may have been a bad move, Alvarez hasn't given up hope on a rematch.

In fact, Canelo mentioned a couple of weeks ago that he would "like to take that chance for the rematch" if Bivol beats Beterbiev. Bivol spoke about Alvarez's comments in a recent interview with Boxing News and was mostly unbothered about it.
I just don't think about it at all. I have my training camp, I have Beterbiev fight and then we will see. Just talks, talks. If we need to do some fight he doesn't need to talk with the media, he needs to talk to Eddie Hearn... We could fight, I was available a couple of years. More than one year we were waiting [for] the offer, but we didn't get it. Doesn't matter.
Bivol didn't dismiss the possibility of a rematch, but he also didn't sound too thrilled about entertaining it. Of course, money talks, but it seems like Bivol has put Alvarez in the rearview mirror after giving him a chance to negotiate in the past.
Beterbiev and Bivol will fight on October 12 at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
