The stage is set for Super Bowl LIX, with the reigning champion Kansas City Chiefs facing the Philadelphia Eagles in a highly anticipated rematch of Super Bowl LVII. Kansas City edged out Philly in that thriller, 38-35, and history favors them again--teams that won the first matchup in a Super Bowl rematch hold a 6-2 record.

Kansas City's offensive line will have its hands full with Philadelphia's top-ranked defense, led by dominant tackle Jalen Carter. This is how it ends for the Chiefs. Kansas City's dreams of a Super Bowl three-peat have been dashed in New Orleans, as Patrick Mahomes and the AFC champs' offense never really got going until the score was out of hand. The Chiefs failed to protect Mahomes for most of the night, and they will head back to Missouri deeply disappointed with the result -- while star tight end Travis Kelce could seriously contemplate retirement.
For the Eagles, this is pure elation. After watching anchor Jason Kelce retire following an early playoff exit in 2023, Philadelphia retooled its coaching staff and added star running back Saquon Barkley before entering the playoffs as NFC East champions.
